DIY Cupcake in a jar
Ingredients:- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour- 1 1/2 cups sugar- 1 tsp baking soda- 1 tsp salt- *2 1/4 tsp cocoa powder- *1 1/2 cup canola oil- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature- 2 large eggs, room temperature- 2 tbsp red food coloring- 1 tsp white distilled vinegar- *2 tsp vanilla extract
for the cream cheese frosting:- 1 pound cream cheese, softened- 2 sticks butter, softened- *2 tsps vanilla extract- 4 cups sifted powdered sugarDirections
1. I spray the pan with pam and then fill each hole up 2/3 with the batter. Note: I do not use liners, but you could if you want, just pull them off before putting them in the jar.2.Usually they are done after about 17 minutes in my oven at temperature of 350℉, and I take them out and put them on a wire rack to cool completely.
3.Once they are cool, I slice them in half. You will have a stack of tops and a stack of bottoms.
4. Place 1 bottom in each jar.
5.Put a layer of the frosting.
6.Take the top of the cupcake and place on top of the layer of frosting.
7. Flatten (gently smash) the top part of the cupcake inside the jar. You want to get the top sort of flat.
8.Beautifully frost the top of the cupcake.
9.Cover with lids and package however you like! It will be heartbreaking to eat, as it is so pretty, but it is so yummy!
Yum!
Why is it if I have a hard day at work and come home tired and cranky, I get asked “oh, are you on ur period? You sure are in a bad mood.” NO!! Geez!!! Its so annoying! Yet the same thing happens to him, he has a rough day, comes home, doesn’t wanna talk, doesn’t want a hug, and yet I’m supposed to be understanding and leave him alone. He doesn’t leave me alone when I’m having a rough day! He continues, at every opportunity, to point out how grumpy I am, which, I might add, only makes me grumpier. Let me tell you, HIS PMS which has no basis and lasts WAY longer that any womans, is 100 times worse than mine (if I was even pms-ing…..which I’m NOT). I was tired & grumpy last Friday & just wanted to be left alone. But of course that didn’t happen & I just finally went to bed to avoid a fight. (A person can only take being called, grumpy, crabby, bitchy, etc so much before exploding….then you will really see what bitchy is!!…but I don’t want that) And the next day we woke up and everything was fine. I was rested, didn’t have to work and we had a great day. But let him have a bad day at work on Monday and OMG, its like we are playing the “quiet” game. He has barely spoken 3 words to me each day. No matter how sweet I am to him to try and bring him out of his bad mood, he just gives me 1 word answers or mumbles “mmhmm”. We are on day 3 of HIS grumpiness and if I were to point out to him how “grumpy, crabby or bitchy (yes he is being bitchy) he is, all hell would break loose and I would be accused of being “insensitive”. He is a really great guy, but let me tell you, these crazy bad moods he gets in really drive me insane!!! Sorry if I rambled. I just needed to vent. Male PMS really sucks ass!!! There. I’m done.
With the GOP in control of the US House, everything we have worked for over the past 40 years hangs in the balance. I don’t know what wave of feminisim we’re in, but this is an act of inhumanity from one human being against another. If you post anything today, please consider posting this link, signing the petition and passing it along.
It wasn’t that long ago that we were fighting for our reproductive rights, we shouldn’t have to start that fight all over again. We’re not going to send women back into the alleys and deny the hundreds of thousands of American’s who visit Planned Parenthood centers for other basic and lifesaving medical care.
The U.S. House of Representatives has just voted to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding for birth control, cancer screenings, HIV testing, and other lifesaving care.
It is the most dangerous legislative assault in our history, and it cannot go unanswered. We — Planned Parenthood and the three million women, men, and teens who are at risk of losing access to basic care — need you to stand united with us now.
K….I dunno how to post this to your personal page….I still haven’t figured this tumblr thing out yet!! But I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday Kayla!!! I hope you have a very special day & get everything you ask for!!! ENJOY

A picture began circulating in November. It should be “The Picture of the Year,”… or perhaps, “Picture of the Decade.” It won’t be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.
The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother’s womb. Little Samuel’s mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner’s remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.
During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon’s finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.
The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, “Hand of Hope.” The text explaining the picture begins, “The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother’s uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.”
Little Samuel’s mother said they “wept for days” when they saw the picture. She said, “The photo reminds us pregnancy isn’t about disability or an illness, it’s about a little person.” Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome…incredible….and hey, pass it on! The world needs to see this one.
